First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Manoj Motta Sir and Indosyki Resources Pvt. OPC., for giving me this opportunity to work on the project ‘Farm To Fingers’. This internship journey has been a great learning experience for me. Though in virtual mode, was filled with intensive learning. Additionally, working on such project with a very Nobel cause was itself a pleasurable thing. This COVID-19 pandemic situation has encouraged and pushed me even more to work on this project and has made me realize how important it was to work on such project. This sector of fresh produce retailing in India is itself very unorganized and needs revamping at the earliest . However, the Pandemic situation made everybody realize that the Supply Chain Management of Fresh Produce category requires the proper organization and planning even more desperately. It was great experience to work on a project from scratch. Right from the finalizing the merchandizing list, to identifying and locating the possible store strategy dots on the target market area, to studying and analyzing the gaps in the existing system, to identifying the challenges and opportunities and then proposing the our own supply chain and arriving at the quantity calculation gave me the close view of what all goes behind planning and strategizing before business comes to life. I am glad that besides completing objectives of our project, I could also contribute my bit to develop the profit and Loss statement of the company. I want to thank all Mr. Santosh Deodhar, Mr Mayank Sahay, Mr Amit Hegishte for their constant support and guidance. Last but not the list I would like to thank my team members Mr. Amrkhan Pathan and Mr. Ateeb Pathan. This internship opportunity has helped me develop a structured approach to find a solution of any problem and has helped me to broaden my thinking. I have learnt many things from Mr. Manoj Sir, and this internship has surely been memorable experience, learning new things and memories. I am glad to be part of the project ‘Farm To Fingers’.

I got this opportunity of working on a project 'Farm to Fingers' which aims to solve the very problem of supply chain of perishable commodity such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Disruption in supply chain of essential commodities in this current situation emphasizes the need to have robust supply chain management of this category.I got to experience the detailed merchandising of F&V store, its category contribution and related profit and loss statement. I learned about the current practices in this F&V retail business, the need of proper storage facilities and transportation for fresh fruits and vegetables, competitor analysis and the best practices to be incorporated in this business and the need to realign the traditional route of supply of fresh produce from farm to consumer doorsteps.During the tenure of internship had constant guidance of Manoj Motta sir and my fellow colleagues Ateeb and Malvika. I am sure the experience would have been even richer if we could get actual field experience together as a team.

The whole nation was in lockdown when we got the opportunity to work with Indosyki Resources. I was in doubt initially about how the internship will going to work out. But because of the clarity, Manoj Sir had from the beginning helped us to accomplish all tasks. During this internship, I got to know the current situation of the agriculture sector, and fresh produce retail sector, understood the gaps, and the drastic need to realign them with the best practices adopted by brands overseas. I got first-hand experience in merchandising a store, and deciding on sourcing geographies. Despite sitting at home, miles apart we managed to complete the assigned work, due to the determination of my fellow team members.
